This new hybrid solar cell can harvest electricity from actual raindrops

TENG solar cells
Chinese researchers have developed hybrid solar cells that can generate power from sunlight as well as raindrops. Researchers improved upon previous studies which placed triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) over solar cells to generate energy from the motion of raindrops. They added a polymer coating which acts as a mutual electrode for both TENG and solar cells, conducting energy in between.
